I have a Nutone IM 3303 system. We have had a lightening strike fairly close to the house and heard a loud pop and thought the intercom system was fried. After pressing the reset button, I have been able to get all but one of the remote units to receive a radio station (verified by moving the non-working remote unit to a working location and vice versa). Here is what is not working:
1. Speaker on Main Unit.
2. Ability to control radio station functionality remotely (this did work before).
3. Intercom function (ability to speak/hear) from units. May have some relation to #1.
I really do not want to replace the main unit ($400). Having radio functionality is nice but would prefer to have it all working. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

With all of the symptoms you've described, and the fact that the reset does not solve the problem, it sounds as though some of your circuitry was damaged with the power surge from the lightning strike. Intercoms are extremely sensitive. We've had a local company produce a special in-line surge protector that can prevent some surges from damaging the units. To get your system back to full function you would have to replace the master station. The estimate to repair your master station would be just about as much as replacement. For just a little bit more, you can replace it with the -IP version which gives you the additional feature of playing an MP3 player, such as iPod, through your intercom system.

My master speaker has gone out, but everything else works splendidly. Is there something I can do as a novice, or is this a much bigger problem than wiggling a wire or two? Thanks!

I am replacing parts of my intercom and wanted to know --when I re-connect the transformer leads (2 pairs of white and red wires), does it matter where the white vs red are screwed onto each transformer (i.e., on the right or on the left of each tranformer. My system is the IMA-4406.

There is no polarity on the transformers.

I am installing nutone NM200 master remote stations. There are 6 colored wires on the unit while cat 5 wires have 8 wires. Please suggest the combination match that works. I am getting radio signals fine but Talk/Listen does not have sound coming.
