Product Review: Kocom Video Security

The KOCOM KVM-514GS Video Security System can be used in both residential and commercial applications.  Any small business or office setting or anywhere that you need to see who is at the door prior to opening it.  This is probably one of the most cost effective video intercom solutions you will find.

 

The  KOCOM KVM-514GS monitor has a very clear 4 inch Black and White picture.  When a visitor rings the door bell button, the 4 inch screens are automatically turned on for viewing.  Simply lift the handset on one of a monitors to talk with your visitor while you view their image on the screen. 

 

The KOCOM KVM-514GS monitor also comes with the ability to view the door area in the 'monitor' mode.  This can be done by simply pushing the button and it is not necessary to lift the handset.

 

Some additional features of the KOCOM KVM-514GS system is that with an added door release mechanism, you can unlock to door from the inside monitor(s).  You can also communicate with each of the other monitors in the building

 

This system does have some limitations.  It can only be used at (1) door.  So if you have (2) doors for video monitoring you will need to look at another system.  KOCOM makes another system, the  KOCOM KIV-102 Handsfree Video System, that can handle more than one door..

Product Review: Video Security System

The Arm Electronics 4-Channel Standard Resolution Package is a video security package that is suitable for use in small businesses, retail shops, gas stations, convenient stores or even large homes,  If you have a specific area that you want to monitor and record the activity to DVR, whether inside or outside, the Arm Electronics package would be a good choice.

The 4-Channel Standard Resolution Package comes with a 14 inch high resolution CRT monitor that can be upgraded to a flat screen LCD monitor in 15inch, 17inch or 19inch, at an additional cost. There is a high resolution packable available, and an upgrade to 8 channels.   This system would not be suitable for those applications requiring more than 8 channels.

The two bullet cameras are infrared which means they can be used for daytime or nighttime use.  They have a range of 49 feet,  with the ability to adjust the camera lens externally for enhance the clarity on the subject area.  These cameras are completely weatherproof, so there is no concern when mounting outdoors.  Bullet cameras come complete with mounting hardware for easy installation.
 
The two indoor color dome cameras are black and have a 3.6mm mini lens.  These are also available in white at the same price.  The dome cameras can also be upgraded to infrared for night time viewing, zoom, or alarm capabilities.
